The first is pink and peach dahlias laid over a handwritten love letter, faded postage stamps in the corner, the word Love in someone's careful cursive underneath. The second is a scatter of wildflowers, daisies, cornflowers, little purple stems, across a page of blue script, with a red wax seal pressed in the corner like the letter just got closed up.

They belong together. One is the letter being written; one is the letter being sent. I kept them as a pair on my own cards for months, debit on one, library on the other, and I still get a small flutter opening my wallet.
